The Columbia Classic Grand Prix

Mark your calendars for the 18th running of the $40,000 Columbia Classic Grand Prix! In Grand Prix showjumping, horse and rider race the clock through a tough course of obstacles, twists and turns. The Columbia Classic features top riders, including Olympians from the U.S. Equestrian Team.

This event is the College's major fundraiser and benefits the HCC Educational Foundation which provides financial assistance to HCC students seeking the opportunities of education.

Poetry Contest for Teens & Teen Idol Auditions As Part of "Hear My Voice" Teen Day
CA is holding a poetry contest for teens, ages 13-18. The winner of the poetry contest will read their poem during the “Hear My Voice” Teen Day event on Sunday, from 2-5 pm at the Columbia Teen Center. Teens are asked to create an original work based on the theme “Hear My Voice” and/or teen empowerment. While there is no word limit, all entries must be no longer than 3 minutes when read aloud. Profanity, sexual innuendo and references to drugs and/or alcohol are grounds for disqualification.
Entries are due on September 12 by 5 pm. To submit a poem, please mail to the Columbia Association Poetry Contest, Attn: Carol Wasser, 10221 Wincopin Circle, Columbia, MD 21044 or email to Carol.Wasser@columbiaassociation.com. For more information, please contact 410-715-5523

In this picaresque comedy, two ex-cons travel the back roads of North Carolina in search of a hot meal or an easy mark. Along their travels they encounter a larcenous country preacher, an ambitious politician, a sex-starved lady famer, and a shady used car dealer in a story of frienship and loyalty. This production will be directed by Artistic Associate Jackson Phippin, who formerly directed "The Italian Lesson" and "Fool for Love" at Rep Stage.
